Over the past fourteen years I have embraced a journey of growth, rich experiences, learning, challenges and opportunities. After studying print production and working as a journalist, I returned to university to pursue my passion for helping others. I had no idea how incredibly life changing the next six years would be, exploring and taking on the world of social work and psychology. Through my practice I had the opportunity to work under inspiring mentors, and to learn from my clients. This was not an easy path, providing therapy and support to disadvantaged and vulnerable people and communities. I practiced in children's homes, government hospitals and clinics, focusing on areas such as mental health and spinal injuries.

I continued to offer freelance writing on the side, and developed and managed several social impact campaigns to raise awareness and make a difference. I engaged in radio and television interviews to expand awareness and initiate conversations around social issues. Later I completed my masters, presenting my research at an international conference in Bangkok.

Body work and fitness was always a large part of my own health and wellness, and so after completing my Yoga Teacher Training I decided to bring Breathe.Move.Play to life, integrating the mind, body, and breath, using my skills and knowledge to empower clients. Over the years I have expanded my knowledge and expertise, engaging further with physiology and anatomy through Massage Therapy, Mobility, Flexibility training and Kinstretch, adding further value to my clients. I am constantly reading and learning - not just for my own interest, but also to enhance my knowledge further so I can pass this on to others.

Working in various communities and with different cultures has allowed me to explore and understand different dynamics, environments and eco-systems. I have done work with athletes, children, the elderly, and worked at surf competitions, on a super yacht and at a wellness space.

My own personal journey - with regards to my mind, body, relationships, and healing - has allowed me to empathise and relate to my clients. My passion for sports, fitness and health has led me to discover the beauty and medicine of movement. Our bodies are incredible - through movement and the breath we can heal, and reach our full potential. I have become more connected and aware of my mind, body and breath; and this has supported me through my own challenges, and helped me regain my courage and power.

This beautiful gift is something I share with my clients. I continue to learn about the world through other people’s perspectives, based on their own experience, culture and context, using this to guide my work.

It is key that you feel heard and understood in this authentic and non-judgemental space. This work allows us to focus on your process. We work with your specific goals, environment, mind and body; embracing your passions and strengths, so you can fulfill your full potential - whatever that may look like, for you.

Our breath is everything! Through the art of breath I have learnt how to sit with pain and discomfort. I ride the waves, observing and being inquisitive, rather than fighting, and being fearful. I feel my breath, as it guides me, and allows me to become deeply connected to myself. Whenever I feel disconnected, I come back to my breath, and come back to my body, letting go of the rest, and allowing my breath to assist me in reconnecting with myself.

My breath is my anchor - on and off my mat. It brings me back to the present, and holds and grounds me in my everyday life. It is my support in all that I am part of, through the joy and struggles, difficult relationship dynamics, emotional times, moments of stress and during exercise.

Movement is medicine. Our bodies are incredible machines with endless capabilities. Through movement we can heal, grow and release. I work from an integrative space, combining the foundations of yoga with mobility, flexibility, and Kinstretch so we can move with intention.

Movement has been, and is, my teacher. Over the years I have explored various styles of movement; such as yoga, kinstretch, functional remote conditioning, pilates and strength training. I have had the privilege of moving with knowledgeable and talented practitioners all around the globe. I have played with different movements and breathwork, and through this I have explored and developed my own personal practice, allowing my intuition to guide me, as I embrace what aligns with my own body, mind and soul.

Yoga and movement was the catalyst in my discovery of self-esteem and inner power. It has shown me that I can do anything I set my mind to when I trust my intuition, remain consistent, and approach life with patience. Through my practice I have found a liberating freedom that comes with letting go of attachment and expectation - just being present, in this moment, right here, right now.

My movement journey has been one of valuable lessons, of confrontation, fun, joy, love, and boundless healing. It has developed my resilience - both on and off the mat.

As we move we explore our bodies, we begin to discover what we are actually capable of, and the incredible things that we can do with our bodies. We can get lost in the chaos of the current world of “doing”, and forget to let go and have fun. Exploring and tasting the deliciousness of life is so important!

It is so important to play , especially as adults! Like yoga, surfing has shown me how absolutely beautiful and joyful life really is, especially when we surrender, accept, and just go with it, approaching situations with playfulness, creativity, and the willingness to learn. The ocean's magic has taught me how to let go and embrace what comes my way - on my board and in life. I initially felt the need to grasp my board tightly, to hold my breath and stay in control... but surfing has shown me that it is when I let go, surrender, and just flow with the ocean that I can then experience true magic! I ride the wave with curiosity, playfulness and acceptance - embracing the moment and what it brings, even if it is a rough and messy wipe-out!
